A charming history written by three lifelong residents of West Brunswick, a village located in Midcoast Maine. A mixture of historical documentation of the past 400 years of Indian and American settlements, shipbuilding, and other economic endeavors along Maquoit Bay, genealogies of the houses in the neighborhood, and oral histories--often with Maine humor--by the authors and other family members. Packed with family photographs on nearly every page, this unique and heartfelt memoir is a must for any history buff.

A memoir of the author's service as a Peace Corps Volunteer on Pohnpei Island, Eastern Caroline Islands in 1967 & 1968. The narrative is based on letters and journals written at that time, plus reflections and additions after the 50+ years that have passed since then. There are about 285 photographs, most of then color images, and all taken by the author. The book may appeal to RPCVs who served in Micronesia, but the photographs may attract persons interested in the islands at that time of transition in the post-WWII era of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.

THROUGH THE AGES: MY FAMILY HISTORY begins with the story of my ancestors and the challenges and hardships they experienced over the years as they created a new life in a new land. Their struggles and determination led the way for me and my generation. The story goes on to describe my life as an Iowa farm girl, a wife and mother, a nurse. and finally a retiree. It deals with the unbelievable number of changes that have occurred during my lifetime from journeys across the country in covered wagons to international travel by air. My hope is that this book might provide one block in the foundation for future of the generations in my family.

Back in 1972, international travel was not nearly as common as it is today, especially for young people. But I was chosen to chaperone and speak for a Youth for Christ evangelistic singing team, The Mighty Wind, as they traveled overseas for a few months. We sang and spoke to a couple hundred thousand people of all ages in schools, colleges, churches, open air and in other facilities. This is an account of the highlights and trials of 6 young folks performing and living together under a stressful schedule.
